At McMurry, you’ll be surrounded by professors and faculty who are passionate about your future in sports and wellness leadership. You’ll receive a valuable education inside and outside of the classroom, with opportunities for hands-on experience and learning. Sports leadership and wellness majors are invited to participate in select internships and will complete a capstone project to showcase their knowledge as a requirement of the degree.

Bachelor of Science in Sports Leadership and Management
If you see your future in health and wellness leadership, this degree offers a broad and balanced knowledge base. Encompassing the science of physical fitness and the impact of communications and leadership style on performance and well-being, you’ll be an effective coach wherever your career takes you.
Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Human Performance
The B.S. in exercise science and human performance prepares you well for an immediate career in healthcare, fitness or sports performance. The degree also serves as the foundation of a pre-professional program in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or athletic training by tailoring your upper-level courses to your professional interest.
Bachelor of Science in Physical Education – All Levels
You’ll be ready to start your career as a physical education teacher, fitness instructor, trainer or coach. You’ll be equally prepared to continue your studies in a master’s program in your chosen area of interest. A minor in Curriculum and Instruction is required for the B.S. degree.
Minor in Administration of Coaching
Coaching is a calling. This minor prepares you for a career on the field or in the front office and complements a number of majors in the Health and Human Sciences Division. It is also one of the concentrations offered in the versatile Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (B.I.S.) degree.
You’ll develop highly marketable skills to help you thrive as an individual sports coach or at a sports management level. Choose from exciting career options like fitness instructor, athletic trainer, sports ministry leader, athletic director, faculty operations manager or a sports journalist.
