Chi Omicron was founded in March of 1957 by 14 charter members. Chi Omicron was a strong presence on campus until 1980, during that year Chi Omicron was declared inactive. In 1983 Chi Omicron was re-chartered but was again declared inactive in 1989. In 2007 Chi Omicron re-chartered for a second time and became a recognized club on campus. Over the years Chi Omicron has represented many different tribes at Teepee Village. Some of the more notable Indian tribes represented by Chi Omicron are the Florida Seminoles and the Nanamuit Tribe. Chi Omicron takes pride in accurately representing these tribes and may be remembered best for building an igloo or bringing an alligator to Wahwahtaysee.
