McMurry Student Employment
All student employment at McMurry University (with the exception of two areas) is administered through the Work Study program. The Student Employment Coordinator verifies eligibility and organizes departmental job postings, application, and new hire document processing in the Career Development office.

Work Study
Work study requires federal College Work Study funding from Financial Aid. Please contact your financial aid advisor at 325-793-4713 to learn of your eligibility and how to accept your award.
Students compete for work study positions via online application and are interviewed and selected by department supervisors. The standard award is 10 hours per week for each 16-week fall and spring semester. We cannot guarantee you a work study position.
Summer work study requires enrollment in summer courses.
Requirements
Everything required from you by financial aid should be turned in by Aug 1st, regardless of whether or not you are awarded. Contact your Financial Aid advisor to confirm their requirements are filled and your eligibility.
New, 1st-time student employees must have a social security number, and present acceptable original forms of ID and bank direct deposit information to complete Federal payroll W4/I9 and direct deposit forms. Please review ID requirements at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) webpage. Copies cannot be accepted.
Student Employment
Regardless of award or job type, complete verification through Financial Aid is required.
McMurry University complies with all applicable federal and state nondiscrimination laws and does not engage in prohibited discrimination on the basis of race, color, nationality or ethnic origin, sex, age or disability in employment or the provision of services.
Skills-specific hires
Students requested for skills-specific positions (e.g., Chemistry majors with lab experience) but not awarded federal funds may qualify for McMurry Work Program (MWP) funds if requested by a qualified department. Financial Aid must confirm complete verification. These jobs are not posted. Each department requests the qualified students they want to hire.
When to Begin the Work Study Job Search
If you are awarded work study funds, your award is confirmed to Work Study Coordinator by Financial Aid, and have registered for classes, you can view and apply for available positions.
Begin to monitor your McM student email the first full week of August for a message with specific “Work Study Instructions” for the current year. Select “Student” from the McMurry Employment Portal.
Non-Work Study
There are only two non-work study, “part-time” student work positions on-campus: Phonathon and Jr. Admissions Counselor through PeopleAdmin.
Current or graduating students and alumni are invited to visit the McMurry Career Connections employment portal provided by Career Development to view and apply for good part-time, entry level, or professional opportunities.
